In an increasingly visual communications world in which employees, stockholders, customers and others are less inclined to read, these audiences instead expect to see and hear executives, most often on video or though an intranet. Because extemporaneous remarks can easily stray off message and leave important points unmentioned, a well-crafted script is essential to making the most of the speaker's time, as well as that of the listening audience.
Leavitt Communications, in conjunction with Northern California-based Jay Stuller (www.jstuller.com) develops scripts for videos of all types, from remarks to employees to a customer-oriented sales video. Now an independent author, journalist and communications consultant, Stuller was formerly a communication executive with Chevron Corporation, writing scripts and supervising the production of videos for the Chairman of the Board and other senior executives. He has also written a script for a documentary on the history of Fort Ross, for the California Park Service.
