MACTEC GARNERS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES CONTRACT AT ANCHORAGE AIRPORT

ALPHARETTA, GA, May 7, 2009 -- The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has awarded MACTEC a two-year contract to provide environmental services at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC). Allen Kibler, President of MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc., (www.mactec.com), made the announcement.

ANC is located about four miles southwest of downtown Anchorage. Constructed in 1951, it was renamed by the Alaska legislature in 2000 to honor former U.S. Senator Ted Stevens. Almost 5.4 million passengers arrived/departed in 2008 and ANC ranks as the world's fifth-busiest airport by cargo traffic (after Memphis, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Seoul). The airport has three asphalt paved runways.

According to MACTEC Alaska Office Manager Sean P. Thomas, MACTEC will provide groundwater monitoring and soil testing at remediation land spread areas, fire training facilities, and other locations, such as storm water outfalls and soil storage areas. Additional services and task orders may be issued during the term of the contract to provide additional testing and/or environmental services as needed.
